MEETING SATURDAY FEBRUARY 23, 2008 AT THE TRENDWAY CENTER IN HOLLAND MI.
Desserts, beverage, and chatter begin at 6PM and the meeting will start at 7.  Bring a dessert if you like but it in not a requirement as we always have plenty!!! Follow signs to Windmill Island (downtown Holland) on 7th street (one way west).  Go to 1st stoplight after Windmill Island and turn left into the 1st parking lot on the left after the light.  Take elevator in big double doors to the second floor.  Lost? Call 616-218-1570 or 616-218-1422 and Ken will guide you in from any location.
Only two meetings this year so please make it a priority to attend.   Next meeting will be April 26, same time same place so mark your calendars.  If you are unable to attend please contact me with an update and I will pass the information along. Oh and sorting socks is not going to work as an excuse this year!!!!!!!!!

MAY 17, 2008:  At this time I do not know of any major changes and I am looking forward to any suggestions and impute at the meeting to make this year run smooth again.  With almost 600 vehicles in 2007 there was plenty to do behind the scenes which reminds me to let you know if there is anyone who would like to help out please have them contact me.  We will try to have scheduled times for workers this year so hopefully only Ken and I are over worked. (Ok the auction people, yup and the parkers and traffic, I hear you registration and gate and all the rest of the volunteers. Even those of you that are always hauling me away from that nice little cot I have set up for my nap!). Please make every effort to be there by 7am. Earlier is better, after that it really starts to get busy.

AUCTION ITEMS:  Every year you do a terrific job of coming up with items for the auction. I know that it is the hardest part of the show to go out and ask, plead, beg, use up your favors, strong arm, cry in the store until they give you an item but remember why we are doing it and that all the funds go to survivors.  You guys have made this a very creditable show with your hard work and dedication.  It is evident when you talk to a non car person and they are even aware of the Burn Show!!!!!  Again we need any items large or small and we are going to talk about another possible way to publicize donors at our meeting. Please get a business card from donors if possible. I’m waiting to hear from you so we can start the list of Auction items for this year.

2007 was another huge success bringing in over $18,000 and ending up being part of over $30,000 going to burn survivors (details at the meeting!!!).  Thanks to Bob Wolbrink who single handedly collected enough flowers and plants from Ottawa county greenhouses to fill the Trendway semi-trailer one and one half times!!  How about the Buses by the Beach (VW’s) and the Mustang club competition (this is becoming legendary).  How about the V- 8 club’s auction (the only successful lasting charity auction I know of).  The Pontiac club and River Valley club that have spent how many hours in all kinds of weather parking and directing cars?  And yes I know there are a 100 people I have not mentioned and I hope you know that without you the show would not exist and I THANK YOU with all my heart!

This year look for the addition of vintage race cars (and drivers) and unique old and new military vehicles.
